My Background

My name is Brianne Casey, and I hold a BFA from Brock University and an MFA from the University of Western Ontario. Based in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, I create artwork that explores dramatic lighting and the transformation of everyday scenes through heightened atmosphere. Through painting, I investigate how light can be both playful and expressive, shaping the way we experience objects and subjects. By emphasizing contrast, colour, and illumination, my work seeks to capture the world around us in a more dramatic and engaging way, allowing light itself to tell a unique visual story.
